For example, for September 25, their club, Lakitira Village, in Kos, Greece costs £587 per adult and £352 per child (instead of £499.) That price includes round trip flights from London Gatwick, transfers to hotel, seven nights accommodation, all meals and childcare. Child care for its ski programs are for those kids aged 4 months to 12 years and includes breakfasts and ski lessons. During this time adults can choose to ski by themselves or enter into 'ski hosting' groups to meet other adults.
Liz, from Mark Warner, was quick to point out that all its programs are designed flexibly for families to spend some time together, apart or any way they chose. One compelling feature of their tours is that single parent families can request that the maitre d' seat them with other single parent families during meals. Melia Hotel in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico Thanks to K.K for some feedback on the Melia hotel property in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. "My nine month old daughter and I returned yesterday from Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. We stayed at the Melia, Puerto Vallarta. It was wonderful!!! Everyone at the hotel were so helpful and accommodating. I had to pay a "single parent price" which was about $400.00 more than double occupancy price. For my daughter I had to pay a $30.00 tax. The hotel had cribs for the rooms, high chairs in the restaurant, and a Club 4 program which is for children 0 -4, they have 2 wonderful staff who love young children. The program was just play time and they have playpens set up for nap time with TV monitors on at all times!!! They also have a mini club for kids 4 and up. These services were available for parents who were NOT leaving the hotel grounds, but that wanted some time to themselves. I utilized it during the hottest hours of the day, at which time my daughter usually slept, and I could bask in the sun! The food was excellent and so was the service. I have recently been widowed and needed some time with my baby to play and heal. I will go back for sure!"
We called Melia, while their rates are typically $320/night based on double person occupancy, we were glad to find a special that they are running through August 31. Under the terms of the special, a single adult with one child under 12 pays $108 TOTAL for a single room. A single adult with two children pays $144 TOTAL for a double room. I had trouble understanding the agent, so check your prices carefully before booking. Melia can be reached at -888-95-MELIA in the US or 901 24 44 44 in Spain. The free phone in the UK is 0800 962720 and Sydney (61 2 94191777) and Australia (no city mentioned) 1 800 221 176. They also have a Web site http://www.meliahotels.com/cgi-bin/solmelia/home/home?1.

Splash Resorts - Single Parent Special Effective for travel now through December 15, 2001, Splash Resorts is offering a single parent special called "Singular Sensation Parent Promotion." I have checked this out and it really is a great deal, not a marketing ploy. The single parent pays a rate that is equivalent to one half the double room rate. There is NO single supplement. The first child stays free. Additional children between the ages of 2 and 12 are just $31 or $50 per child, per night, in the same room, depending upon the property. Meals, beverages, and activities are included in the room rate. There is no minimum stay requirement and the offer cannot be combined with any other promotion.
There are two Splash properties, Club St. Lucia, located on the Caribbean island of St. Lucia, and Caracol, located near the resort town of Playa del Carmen, in the heart of the Riviera Maya, just 40 minutes south of the Cancun airport, Mexico. Both properties are all-inclusive beachfront resorts featuring a huge variety of activities, numerous restaurants, sports facilities, family programs, and evening entertainment. Caracol even has Mayan ruins on the premises.
For more information, or to make reservations, call Splash Resorts at 877-92-SPLASH. Please be sure to mention CODE SPT when making reservations. You can also visit their Web site at www.splashresorts.com, however the Web site does not list the single parent special rates. (Please note that SingleParentTravel.net is NOT paid to promote any travel supplier. We urge you to mention CODE SPT when making reservations so that we may track referrals, thus assisting SingleParentTravel.net in its quest to make other travel suppliers aware of the growing importance of the Single Parent Travel market).
