Colorado, Garden of the Gods continued

There is another exhibit area that is free of charge for everyone. The exhibit has replicas of animals found during the Jurassic period. The dinosaur lovers in the family ought to find this very interesting. A portion of these exhibits are hands-on and guests are encouraged to touch and hold some of the items on display. The kids loved this type of interaction.

This exhibit also provides information about the general history of the area, the geology and the many animals that are living in the region. The exhibit highlights the life style and cultural history of the Native American Indians who lived or traveled through the area.

Between your tours you can enjoy a break outside on the terrace. The terrace extends out from the visitor center café which serves lunch and a variety of refreshments. While catching our breath between exhibits and tours we had a bite to eat and marveled at the spectacular view of the park from this vantage point.

In the summer months the Garden of the Gods visitor center offers two very interesting evening tours. One of them is called the "Bat Walk" and please note reservations are needed for this one. The other one is called the "Prairie Falcon Night Tour". These tours are exactly what they sound like. You actually walk out into the park with a guide and observe bats or falcons. These tours are not given on the same night and you will need to contact the visitor center to find out the exact time and day for each of these tours.

We think Garden of the Gods is one of the Top Family Attractions in Colorado.
