More than 450 species of birds have been spotted among the diverse Oregon Coast habitats. Expect to see songbirds and raptors, shorebirds on the beaches, waterbirds and marsh birds on coastal bays, sloughs, rivers, and lakes. And pelagic birds visible from boats offshore. Habitats also include sand dunes, tidepools, rock jetties, and offshore rocks. While birding is a year-round activity at the coast, bird varieties and populations peak during fall and spring when hundreds of thousands of birds migrate along the Pacific Flyway.
